Sponsorship Program

A lot of progress has been made in cardiac surgery and treatment in Nepal over the years. However, there are still important problems with getting access to and paying for the care that patients really need. Since the creation of two big cardiac centers, the Shahid Gangalal National Heart Center (SGNHC) and the Manmohan Cardiothoracic Vascular Heart and Transplant Center (MCVTC), the number of heart surgeries performed has reached nearly 3000. In a country with 26.6 million people where rheumatic heart disease is common, there is still not enough access, availability, and affordability of care. Neither the government, its two cardiac centers, nor the Trust by itself can handle the growing number of cardiac patients. Everyone has a part to play in helping bring hope and life to those who need it but cannot access it themselves.

Our Impact in Cardiac Care

Our Impact in Cardiac Care

Every year, JMT sponsors 250–300 cardiac patients' surgeries and treatments through MCVTC and SGNHC. Similarly, we provide medical assistance to 200–250 cardiac patients via Western Regional Hospital, Pokhara. However, the growing number of cardiac patients each year contrasts with our limited funding, which only enables us to provide assistance to a small number of those in need. Since its founding, JMT has been able to support more than 7000 patients.
