Continuing Medical Education CME 2024
When it comes to nursing, education does not stop when you take your last exam or complete the last challenging clinical rotation. The main purpose behind holding a Continuing Medical Education (CME) is to keep our national nurses and doctors’ professional knowledge and skills up to date. JMT has been conducting conferences for nurses since 2012 with a similar intention of upgrading their expertise in their field of cardiology. In order to refine skills and gain professional growth of the practitioners, on 28th October 2023, Jayanti Memorial Trust in coordination with Edwards Lifesciences Foundation, University of Washington and Shahid Gangalal National Heart Center (SGNHC) conducted a Nursing Conference on the topic ‘To improve Cardiac Patient care and Outcomes’ at Alice Receptions, Naxal where 120 nurses had participated in the program.
Counting Medical Education
Continuing Medical Education (CME) plays a crucial role in maintaining the competency of healthcare professionals by ensuring they remain updated with the latest medical knowledge, technologies, and best practices. Recognizing this importance, JMT has been actively organizing conferences and educational programs since 2012, with a special focus on empowering nurses through advanced training in cardiology and related fields.
In its ongoing commitment to professional development, JMT, in collaboration with the Edwards Lifesciences Foundation, the University of Washington, and the Western Regional Hospital, successfully organized a Nursing Conference on 25th October 2024 at Fishtail Lodge, Pokhara. The conference was designed to enhance clinical skills, encourage evidence-based practice, and foster a platform for knowledge sharing among nursing professionals.
A total of 75 nurses from various hospitals and institutions across the country actively participated in the event. The program featured a series of expert lectures, interactive sessions, and case discussions focusing on cardiac care, patient management, and innovations in nursing practice. Participants expressed that the conference provided valuable insights into modern cardiology care and strengthened their confidence in applying updated knowledge to improve patient outcomes.
This initiative reflects JMT’s continuous effort to uplift the standard of cardiac nursing in Nepal by promoting education, collaboration, and lifelong learning within the healthcare community.
