What would have been a better idea than holding a quiz competition for the students on the occasion of the World Heart Day? We understand that very few students take keen interest on learning an additional subject “Afno Mutu Bachao” which JMT had introduced to them a year ago. Thus, to motivate them to complete the syllabus Jayanti Memorial Trust organized a “Power your Life, Fuel your Heart” quiz competition on 29th September, 2016 as a closing ceremony with the respective schools. The children and youth education program as we call it was initiated with the objective of providing additional information and knowledge sharing amongst the youngsters to create a healthier generation in Nepal. Therefore, this competition served as a good platform for JMT to evaluate the impact of the book.
The “Power your Life, Fuel your Heart” quiz competition was conducted at the premises of Western Regional Hospital (WRH). The three hour long quiz was filled with enthusiasm, fun, laughter and excitement. It was amazing to watch the students answer all the questions promptly with confidence. The audiences cheering for their teams added to the great energy. Even though all the participating 12 schools answered brilliantly, there had to be three winners. Chorepatan H.S. School, Tal Barahi H.S. School and Barahi H.S. School stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively. They were awarded with the trophy and certificate by JMT’s advisor Mr. Ananda Raj Mulmi, Dr. Ashish Tripathee, cardiologist at WRH and Mr. Prakash Bajracharya, President of Cycle City Pokhara. Certificate of Participation was awarded to all the students and we hope they take back good memories with them and continue their journey towards a healthier future.
